About SASAFF

The South African Sport Aerobics, Fitness & Hip Hop Federation (SASAFF) is the official governing body for the administration, competition, and grading in the sports of fitness aerobics and hip-hop in South Africa. Our Role

  • The ONLY affiliated member of SASCOC (South Africa’s custodian of Fitness Sport Aerobics & Hip Hop).
  • The ONLY National Federation authorised by SASCOC to award Protea Colours, Provincial Colours (in consultation with SASCOC Confederations), and SASAFF Federation Colours.
  • Athletes affiliated to SASAFF qualify through the South African National Sport Aerobics, Fitness & Hip Hop Championships for participation at international events like the FISAF International and Hip Hop Unite World Championships.
  • The National Championships hosted by SASAFF is the exclusive official event for these sports in South Africa.

International Affiliations

SASAFF is affiliated with two leading international organisations:
  • FISAF International – for Sport Aerobics & Fitness
  • Hip Hop Unite – for Hip Hop competitions
FISAF International is an independent, democratic, and non-profit international federation dedicated to the global development of sport aerobics, fitness, and hip hop.

SASAFF operates through two core codes of competition:
  • Sport Aerobics & Fitness
  • Hip Hop

Our History

The South African Sport Aerobics and Fitness Federation, formerly known as the SA Trimgym Aerobics and Fitness Federation, pioneered the sport of Amateur Aerobics in South Africa in 1991. The first ever South African National Aerobic Championships took place in 1994.
